Where West Virginia wilderness begins

An Evening Add-On for Overnight Guests

The Hillcrest Manor Pub Experience

A private evening in our 1890s carved mahogany pub room — hot supper on the bar, the pot belly stove glowing, and the screened porch bar open to the West Virginia hills. Yours alone, start to finish.

The Concept

A proper pub night, in a pub that's actually yours

Brian spent ten years living in England, and the manor's original pub room is where that decade shows. Carved mahogany bar. Cast iron pot belly stove. Brick fireplace. Exposed timber beams. For one evening, the whole room — and the screened porch bar beyond it — belongs to your group and no one else. No hosting, no hovering. Brian and Charlene set everything up before you arrive and stay a text message away.

The Arc of an Evening

Arrive. Feast. Gather. Linger.

1

Arrive

Candlelight in every corner, a locally sourced cheese and charcuterie board waiting on the carved bar, fresh bread and crackers alongside.

2

Feast

A complete hot supper in a proper chafing dish — lasagna, pot roast, chicken parmesan and more on rotation. Self-serve, at your own pace.

3

Gather

Light the pot belly stove. Cast the game, a film, or your playlist from your phone — four speakers inside, two more on the porch.

4

Linger

Drift out to the screened porch bar — string lights, bar stools, the forest sounds of the hills — and let the evening run long.

Always Included

Everything set before you walk in

The complete drinks bar

Hot drip coffee with cream and sugar, black, green and herbal teas with proper cups and a kettle, bottled still and sparkling water, and classic soft drinks — set up for self-serve all evening, for everyone.

The hot supper

A hearty, commercially prepared meal held at perfect temperature in the chafing dish. Choose your menu when you book.

The welcome board

Locally sourced cheese and charcuterie, professionally arranged on a wooden serving board and waiting at the bar when you arrive.

Big screen & real sound

Large flat screen with Chromecast — cast Netflix, ESPN, Spotify, or anything else straight from your phone. Six speakers carry it inside and out.

The bar, fully kitted

Genuine 20 oz imperial pint glasses, ice bucket, glassware, bottle opener and bar tools. Kindling and matches on the hearth for the stove.

Complete privacy

Brian and Charlene are not there. The pub is entirely yours — just you, your people, and 130 years of history. Brian is a text away if you need anything.

Two Historic Spaces

Inside by the fire, or outside under the lights

Inside

The Historic Pub

The original 1890s manor pub room. Carved mahogany bar, cast iron pot belly stove, brick fireplace, exposed timber beams, candlelight. Sound that fills the room without drowning conversation. The real thing.

Outside

The Screened Porch Bar

A fully equipped outdoor bar overlooking the West Virginia hills. Bar stools, string lights, open air, the forest all around — with the pub's sound following you out through two porch speakers.

Worth Knowing

BYOB welcome — and genuinely optional

Bring your own beer, wine, or spirits and the bar is ready for it — glassware, ice, and imperial pints included. If you'd like a local pour, we'll point you to Squids Brewery in Weirton on your way in.

Don't drink? The evening is built to be complete without alcohol of any kind — the full drinks bar is always included, and families, designated drivers, and anyone in recovery are equally at home here.

Perfect For

Evenings that deserve a better room

  • Couples adding something genuinely unique to a getaway
  • Game day on the big screen — your pub, your people, no waiting for a table
  • Bachelorette weekends and birthdays that outgrew the crowded bar
  • Movie nights by a glowing stove in a 130-year-old room
  • Families — children and grandparents in on the same evening
  • Music lovers who want their playlist filling a pub, indoors and out
